Tranquility, Columbia 29
The Columbia 29 belongs to Matthew Name the web developer for Electric Yacht and this is his conversion story. His independent findings or opinions expressed on this page do not reflect the findings or opinions of Electric Yacht.

"This is my baby, Tranquility, a Columbia 29 Sloop, re-rigged as a cutter. She's a full keel that sails easy and true, built in 1965 an old girl that is need of a lot of love and devotion. I found her in 2005 and purchased her in May 2006, lived aboard her in Provincetown Harbor, MA for the summer of 2006 and 2007.
"After her engine finally died in the fall of 2006, while taking her for winter storage. I converted her to an electric engine system. I used the elctric yacht system because it basically just snaps together to the pre-existing engine rails and prop shaft. 6 lug bolts and a 1” to 3/4” shaft coupler does it.
"It took me longer to change the prop than it did to put in the new electric motor!
